September – Settling In

My house was built by the community, with bricks made by family and neighbors, and the tin panels, door frame and wood beams were supplied by Peace Corps. sourced from the village. If I had to guess, it might be 4×5 meters.

My house sports a very American lawn in the rainy season, a stark contrast to the dry season.

I am constantly organizing and reorganizing my home. The first three photos below show what the space looked like when I first arrived. Over time I have brought in some furniture, painted a wall, and tried to incorporate more fabric and color into my space.
